Open Year Round

Best Places.gif (5062 bytes)

We've been selected as a "Best Place" by tough local reviewers for "Northern California Best Places," the West's most respected guidebook series!

Come to these majestic mountains and relax by the crystal clear waters of Lake Alpine in the high Sierras.  Fish for Rainbow Trout or hike through a pristine Alpine Meadow.  Leave the stress and heat of the city behind and journey up to the shores of peaceful Lake Alpine in the Stanislaus National Forest.  At 7400 feet, the air is clean and the number of stars at night appears infinite.

A complete, Family-oriented Resort, Lake Alpine Resort offers everything you'll need for a wonderful vacation!  We have Bedroom and Studio Cabins (with kitchens and housekeeping services) that sleep from 3 to 10 people.   Tent Cabins are available for camping.

We have a lovely Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, a General/Gift Store, Public Beach, Boat Rental, Bike Rental and a Laundromat.   You can bring your own groceries or get them all at our General Store, or let our great chef, Georgia Strange, do the cooking for you!

Activities include Relaxing, Fishing, Boating, Hiking, Biking, Hunting, Picnicking and Barbecue, and Looking at the View.  Day trips to Historic Gold Country towns like Columbia, Murphy's and Angels Camp are an hour away or less.  Stop at Big Trees State Park to see giant Redwood Trees, or soak in a natural hot mineral pool at Grover Hot Springs.  And Lake Tahoe is just two beautiful hours away, if you want exciting night life.  Also during the Winter the activities include cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, and hiking.
