In the Winter months, a Snow-Park Pass is needed to park at the Lake Alpine Snow-park areas. The passes are only $5.00 for one day and $25.00 for the season and can be purchased at Bear Valley Cross Country Ski. The Lake Alpine SNOPARK is located on Highway 4, just past the turnoff to Bear Valley Mountain Resort.

Take 580 east to 205 east to 120 east to 99 north to 4 east and continue to Bear Valley.

From the Central Valley
Take 99 north to 4 east and continue to Bear Valley.

From Sacramento
Take 99 south to 12 east to 49 south to 4 east and continue to Bear Valley.

From Lake Tahoe / Reno
Winter - (Ebbetts Pass closes): Take 80 west, 50 west, or 88 west from the greater Lake Tahoe basin, to 99 south to 4 east and continue to Bear Valley.

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Cross Country Skiing - Bear Valley, California All levels of skiers can find outstanding skiing and opportunities for quiet and solitude at Lake Alpine. Trails start at the California Sno-Park at the Winter closure Gate on Highway 4, just west of Lake Alpine. The Lake Alpine Loop is a 5 ½ mile trek following the Highway and circling along the lake. There are also several unmarked trails for those with a sense of adventure and excellent winter navigational skills.
