Day TripsThe surrounding area is full of historical and natural points of interest. Columbia State Park, a Restored Gold-Mining Town, is only an hour away. Along the way you can stop at other Historical Gold-Mining Towns including Murphys and Angels Camp, or you could visit Moaning or California Caverns, both of which are Limestone Caves. Another popular stop is Calaveras Big Trees State Park with it's hugh stand of Giant Redwoods. East of Ebbetts Pass are Grover Hot Springs, where you can soak in a natural Hot Mineral Pool, and Historic Markleeville, with it's restored 19th Century Buildings. Exciting, bright nightlife awaits you in Tahoe, just two hours away from the serenity of Lake Alpine. Alpine Fly Fishing offers a variety of services including group trips, classes, private lessons, guided fly fishing and fly tying lessons. Half- or full-day trips are designed to suit the needs of each angler or gorup.
